For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Ive fallen in love with a guitar that needs a neck reset..

Bummer,

Its an old Italian Eko, not a bolt on. Sounds nothing like a Ranger.

This one sounds amazing. And looks really cool.

But..

It needs a neck reset.

Talk me out of it.

Pics later on today.

Did you buy it from someone on the forum?

The reason I ask is, ages ago, I helped get an Eko guitar over to someone in Europe (I forget who). I think it was an Eko El Dorado, which is a fancier dreadnought than the Ranger. I think that had issues with the neck too & maybe needed a reset.

Can't talk you out of it. Sorry. Had the same done to an Epi Les Paul that I really liked. Had vintage-style frets put on at the same time, so it was (a pricey) 2:1 job. Still have and really like the guitar. Kinda miss the bigger frets sometimes though! :-[
Blank.

Talk me out of it.

I'm assuming this thing is like, 20 £/E/$ or whatever, so go ahead!

Good point.

If it's over $400 it's not worth it! :)

I'm trying to think what I paid to have my ES-125 neck reset. I got the fingerboard planed flat and refretted at the same time so my numbers may be a bit off, but I think I paid about $400 total, and it was done by a proper luthier who did a fantastic job. To me, it's a question of how much you love it, and will you keep the guitar. If so, I say yes.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

Oof. That's a tough call. I guess it comes down to how much you love it.
