Mine came today!!!!! Super impressed with this guitar. The finish is a beautiful candy orange. The tailpiece is really cool and thick. The bridge looks totally fine. Not the beefiest TOM, but I am really glad to have it over the floating wood one. The satin neck feels so awesome! As someone who tends to sand the backs of necks to satin, I appreciate that they did it, but in a classy looking way. The neck isn't all satin, just where your hand would touch. The joint where the neck meets body is pretty cool design looking wise. I can tell they put some good thought into it. It has a small valute which I also appreciate. The tuners look like no name Klusons. I am sure they will work fine. I like the headstock brand metal logo. The rosewood is nice and dark. String alignment is straight. The body shape is comfortable. Not too thick or thin. Curves in good places and it is pretty easy to get to higher notes with the lower horn cutaway. What surprised me the most is how light it is. When I picked up the shipping box I almost fell back because it was lighter than I expected it to be. They packed it in the Supro factory box so it was very nicely secured for shipping. This came from Alto music. I would buy from them again.

I don't want to bad mouth Gibson, but their finish work on this Chinese one is better than the Les Pauls I have played in guitar stores. The finish around the end of the fretboard is nice and clean as is the finish on the back and to be honest, Supro's finish is harder since it is two colors vs Les Pauls are normally one. The fretwork on this is also nicer than the Les Pauls I tried. (Not the $5,000 ones, the $1,000 ones.) I also prefer metal tuner knobs to plastic ones.

I'm glad you grabbed that guitar, I was dangerously close.

I really liked the tailpiece on that guitar when I played one.

I thought that the bridge was an ABR-1 bridge, isn't it? If it is, then it's a much better bridge than the more typical "Nashville" garbage bridge that is so common. Don't let the slim size of it fool you, if it is an ABR-1.

Congrats! I love that color and wish it was available on the Hampton. The two guitars are identical aside from the pickups, and my impressions are identical to yours.

In guitar universe, I think this nut width would be considered much smaller than 1.75"! People routinely freak out over 1/16th of an inch when it comes to electric guitars.

1 3/4 would be huge, the nut on the pic seems to be 1 5/8 which would be a lot smaller. Notice how the first notch on the ruler, is not exactly over where the nut begins, it's almost 2/32 off. On the opposite side, the nut ends almost 4/32 off from the 3/4 mark.

That looks brilliant, but the pickup position seems strange to me. I suppose it's probably more useful there than right against the bridge or neck.

That pickup placement is based on an old design.
I think all my photobucket pics are gone, but I may have a photo of my Ozark somewhere that shows that.

Supposed to be a 'harmonic' sweet spot.
I assumed it was just an attempt to cover a bunch of sonic territory with one pickup. The originals were budget-friendly.

One important difference is that the ABR-1 bridge is screwed directly into the body , which gives it a rigidity that the Nashville piece of shit can't offer and sounds better.

I was just estimatings with the nut width. LOL I figured the picture would help. It doesn't feel big to me at all. I like thinner necks and this feels good.

I heard/read that the pickup is where it is because it sounds best there also. Supposedly it helps cover the fact that it just has one pickup, although using the tone pot can give you more bass if needed and you can always strum closer to the bridge or to the neck to get different tone.

It is too bad they didn't paint over the guard like the original. That would put it over the top.

it actually looks like the only thing that would have bugged me is the placement of the volume knob.

a little screen-printing = badass-ness

Got around to putting straplocks on. The low one went in easy but the horn one was tricky. I had trouble getting to it with a screwdriver. My drill also couldn't get to it. I finally found a long enough screwdriver to carefully screw the new straplock in. Had to be careful because those screws like to strip. Looks great with the Couch Hendrix strap my mom gave me for Christmas.
