Rickenbacker 330?
Don't Rickenbackers generally have very narrow nuts?
I was always told that Rics had really thin nuts, and that they were too thin for 12 strings.

Then I played one.

I have big hands, and I was sold. Sold. Sold. Sold. So easy to play.

I dusted off my old Guild Starfire III (mid 60s) last night and ... I'd forgotten how great the guitar sounds and plays (even with nearly non-existant frets after who-knows-how-many fret levels). I'm doubling down on the Guild recommendation. Weirdly, it feels more "vintage" now than when I bought it as a youngin in the 90s.

I had never been a big fan of the double cut look, which is most semi-hollows. I have Gretsch 5620, which can be picked up for around $600 used, which will give you plenty left to swap out their terrible pickups. Full body, single cut look, semi hollow sound.

Thanks for the correction. Given how much utter nonsense proliferates on the internet regarding Fender offsets, you'd think I would have known better than to have just believed what I read re Rickenbackers. I've always loved how they looked so now I might actually have to try a couple  :fp:

I recommend it. I ran into one at a guitar store in my home town while visiting over Thanksgiving last year. Mid 60s. Had been sitting in some guys closet for 50 years. My girlfriend had to make me leave the store before I did something I couldn't afford.

There's a lot of bad info on offsets, but ricks are significantly more polarizing. Play one before you buy one.

I had an Ibanez AS80 about 15 years ago and sold it. They were fine guitars you can still go into any GC and most music shop and find something similar to that for 400ish dollars. Sheratons are around the same value and quality, however I think both lack in the pickup department.
About 10ish years ago I had a Rickenbacker 330. Good guitar, but the necks are small the frets are tiny and as much as I liked the sound... I kind of didn't like playing it. Flash forward to today, I picked up a Vintage(Wilkinson brand) 535. Its an offset 335 style. I actually got it off of the GFS factory buyout.

I put in some nice PAF pickups, nickle hardware , etc etc. Really nice guitar for the price.

I’ve been watching a bunch of 1970’s Ibanez Artist semi hollows, like John Scofield plays, and man, for the price, they look pretty great.
