I built this...
I built a tele I wanted, although its a esquire right now. mjt body, all parts neck, mostly fender hardware. manlius broadcaster pickup. emerson esquire prewired controls. Routed for a jazz master neck pickup I also have another pickguard for when I do that.
Super light I'd be surprised if is 7 pounds, the body is 3lbs 8oz. I still need to get it intonated, but late now and I need to get up early.
Should be quite a fun guitar.

Found a problem with using the original tele style saddles. Even with shimming. I ordered the callaham saddles that are for a bigsby, hopefully that should fix it.

Huh. Did you try and file a groove into the brass saddles? It doesn't take much for the strings to cut their own groove but sometimes they need help.

Pretty cool build !
Like the blue and the amp knobs
how does it sound? Tele twang + behind the bridge overtones must be quite interesting

I was about to say, "put a JM pickup in the neck!" but I see that's already the plan.
Good luck sorting out the bridge issue. That's gonna be one incredible axe when it's done.

looks awesome. I would also recommed filing a groove in that saddle. I did that when i had a brass smooth saddle for my tele with bigsby. i found i was getting string slippage on a couple strings. filing the groove fixed that.
Eventually i ended up getting some cheap threaded saddles (similar to old school jag JM saddles). they did the trick.

Looks cool... just get longer grub screws and they'll stop the strings going off the edge.
