Do stickers rob my guitar of precious tone?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Allowing wine to soak in the sound hole can yield a rich tone bouquet, with hints of chocolate or boysenberry. In a band setting, these tones pair well with beefy les Paul tones for a silky decadent mix.
Back in college I once threw up into my acoustic, but it didn't really affect the Tone either way. Still niffs a bit in warm weather though.

You all probably read that article on which Fender explains all the calculations they had to do in order to have the decals applied to the headstock without disrupting the entire sounds of the guitar... lasted for months, almost drove Leo crazy.

Dumble knew years ago that electrons cannot survive in the crystal lattice of a sticker. It's pretty scientific, not just cork sniffery.

I have found that when I put the stickers on the strings, the tone seems to be affected considerably. It could just all be in my head, though...

the bunny sticker on my jazzmaster makes all the difference. however, i recommend getting custom shop NOS tru-tone stickers.

in all seriousness, im planning on putting a sticker of yuno gasai on my baritone jazzmaster when i get round to finishing it. i wonder if that will make my tone more..... stabby.

Large amounts of stickers also makes the guitar more energy efficient and reduces unwanted emissions. Environmentalists (the more zealous type) tend to have 100s of stickers all over their cars, and surely for that reason.

The problem with my custom builds is that they have TOO MUCH tone. It's really annoying. I've tried stickers, masking tape, dipping in chocolate, EVERYTHING, and still too much.

I'm working on a new pedal design, which splits off some of the tone from the signal chain, to make it manageable. The excess tone goes into a bucket. When the bucket is full, I donate it to a charity that provides tone to disadvantaged Squire owners.

Too much tones can lead to the blues. I heard BB King used to have to prick his fingers everyday, not because he had diabetes but because he had a bad case of the blues and needed to release excess tones from his fingers onto his guitar, which he called Lucille.

Here is the secret to great tonz with a sticker:

1) Place 1L pure virgin olive oil in front of a speaker playing the tonz you want.
2) Take 1 drop of tonz oil and dilute in 1L of water.
3) Take 1 drop of that and dilute again in another 1L of water.*
4) Take 1 drop of that and place on your axe.
5) Cover the drop with a sticker made from paper (paper=wood).
6) Seal the sticker with nitrocellulose laquer (cellulose=wood).
7) You have now sealed great tonz into your guitar using a sticker!

*Do not dilute more than 2x or tonz will be too potent and you will have the same problem as danbind & BB King.

The only sticker that would not rob your guitar of precious tone is a sticker that read "precious tone" because you would simultaneously be removing and adding precious tone.

Q: If stickers add weight, and weight increases sustain, do stickers add sustain to your guitar tone? (besides, of course, the stickers that read "sustain")
