Pat goes LP NGD: what is this old "lawsuit" Black Beauty?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Awesome! Looks like its from the Ibanez (ish) factory. I had an LP Custom (although maple with black blocks years ago and some of the details on yours are exactly the same.
The artist formerly known as kosmonautmayhem.

There is/was no Ibanez factory in the lawsuit era. Fuji-Gen Gakki is a fairly safe bet. The DiMarzios could be an after-market upgrade, as could the Gotohs. Horrible, badly-placed logo, but it's the stuff going on below that really matters.
