Another NGD from the past week.
This is a 60's Klira, Triumphator/Ohio/something.
This is my sixth, and I think I finally found the one for me.
I had several of these over the years...I mean more than 10 years ago, and I didn't really bound with them. I was only into Strats and Les Pauls. Those Klira felt like toys back then...and I wasn't that into vintage guitars. Now I'm in a vintage EU guitars phase, and this is a lot of fun.
Anyway,
I bought two of them, that one and a two pickups version.
I find myself really really, really loving this one better.
The only one pickup is very versatile, thanks to the "varitone", it suits my needs well.
And the neck is awesome...even if it's some kind of baseball neck. I came to the conclusion I can handle big fat necks IF the nut is very narrow, which is the case here. I feel super comfortable. The action is very low and the fretboard is almost concave...the opposite of the 7.25 radiuses I usually love.
This guitar is pretty incredible.
And she doesn't feel like a toy, AT ALL.
The sound is huuuuuuge and amazing, the tone is fabulous.
She is feather like weigth but yet very well balanced.
And she is in near perfect condition.
The tuners are actually trully great, they stay in tune perfectly.
And she is dead silent.
I have 4 different position, which is more than enough.
O!! check this ugly but freakin cool faux marble pickup cover!!!
I really like it
The bridge is very simple, but works very good with the oh so marvellous tremolo.
The trem is very smooth, can be very subtle but very responsive. It's a dream (the other on my 2 pickup version isn't halfway as good, neither were the other one on my previous Kliras...)
The neck is as thick as is the body.
(I made the dots all over the neck with indian bindies )
So yes,
This one is a keeper, for sure.
It feels natural palying that one, it's a nice feeling.
Only bummer, she is red, I'm tired of red guitars
