On a slightly related note ... those Epiphone reissues from a few years back (I think they did the Casino, Sheraton etc as '61 or '62 reissues) - with the smaller headstock shape - are absolutely worth picking up.
I had a Casino (made in China) that was a fantastic guitar - I bought it after trying it out against a US made ES330 and deciding that the MIC Epiphone was a far better sounding and playing guitar. I'm not sure whether I just managed to find a freak guitar or if this is the norm ... but if you can find one be sure to give it a try.
NGD! Epiphone '64 Reissue Sheraton, I think.

Re: NGD! Epiphone '64 Reissue Sheraton, I think.
I've heard as much! The entire reason I bought it was that I thought it was a super cheap price for a '62 reissue sheraton. Also the only reason I've been constantly searching Sheraton on used gear sites - I've been wanting a '62 reissue forever. This is even sweeter though. I'll keep that in mind, if another pops up for a good price!Despot wrote:On a slightly related note ... those Epiphone reissues from a few years back (I think they did the Casino, Sheraton etc as '61 or '62 reissues) - with the smaller headstock shape - are absolutely worth picking up.
