Is this guitar worth anything? "Best Harmony" acoustic

Post by Spitfire7 » Tue Jul 25, 2017 2:32 am

I aquired this old beat up acoustic guitar. It has the table "Best Harmony" on the top. Its made in China and seems like nothing special. I did some research online and there is little to nothing on it other than a few websites saying this is a vintage guitar. I seemed like they were mistaking it for a Vintage Harmony guitar. Can anyone confirm what I have here? Thanks.

no idea what that is.
the old US harmonys are the only ones worth having, and they can be hit and miss.

I've been to one World's Fair, a picnic, and a rodeo, and that's the stupidest thing i ever heard come out a pair of headphones.

Maybe it's a Chinese rip-off model of the vintage harmony guitars?

This^

Not even a rip off of any old harmony, it's just a nondescript ply spanish guitar with some random logo on it.

Yes, the sister in law gave it to me. Its in pretty bad shape and missing bottom strings. So, not so good at thins point. I am sure putting on some strings it would play rather well.

It actually has one steel string. this is ONLY a nylon classical guitar right?

It looks like it. I've never done that little thing where you tie the classical strings, so I've no clue about that, but I think so.

Yes it is, a nylon classical guitar.

But yours have 4 steel strings.
Unless I'm wrong, I've never ever seen nylon strings with the "little ring things at the end of the strings".
You have to make the tie thing with nylon strings...even with the bass ones.

You could use steel strings on this guitar. You'd just have to install a tailpiece at the bottom, and tune the guitar down...because the steel strings tension would rip the bridge off the top of the guitar and bend the neck.

I have one 70s classical italian guitar which came with a stock tailpiece. I've put Martin strings on it and tune it down to B (or C, depends on humidity :D ) and the sound is glorious!!!!

Alright thanks guys. Im trying to sell it to the locals on craigslist. Just had to put in a new transmission on the Nova, so its time to let things go that are just sitting collecting dust.

My friend had a 4 door Nova with a 350. A bad driver in Philly took that car out of commission.
