Just curious though what it sounds like?
What controls?
It sounds more like an acoustic than an electric. i think the closest thing you could compare it to is the Godin solid body acoustics.
the controls are volume, bass, treble. it has an active eq and preamp for the piezo.
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

no doubt. I never thought i'd own THAT guitar...but im psyched that I am going to. And yeh, doug is really cool. He runs a Studio in LA and has an album he recently put out.
I mean, The smashing pumpkins got me to want to play music, but at the time i was content to learn bass, then this guy and his guitar made me change gears and switch instruments. Its a great memory and this is to me, the most valuable guitar I could ever own.

the one I ordered from Japan just came in today. I only had 20 minutes to play it before my son got bored and we had to go play upstairs.
1st impressions...its REALLY REALLY nice.
all the pots have that soft "click" half way through, then past that is a "boost". It gets LOUD. the treble pot is really dynamic and you can really dial in a more acoustic tone by bringing in a bit more past the mid point. The bass does get a little muddy if you turn it higher than 7. if you leave all the pots at the halfway point it sounds fairly full.
I'd recommend this guitar to ANYONE. The neck is fairly easy to get around on, the body is slightly smaller than a les paul with a thinner waist so it was super comfortable to hold.
Im actually more excited about this one than I was when I got my Gretsch Princess.

Dougs guitar just showed up. It is in immacute condition! I'm floored how good it sounds. Stereo outputs. 1 for piezo, one for Fernandes hot rail style pickup. The controls are mag vol, piezo vol, piezo bass and piezo treble. The regular pickup has no tone control which is odd, but it sounds the way I want so no need for one.

Man, THIS is a really cool story and a rad guitar! Thanks for sharing this NGD. I don't even remember the first guitar that made me want to play, but I know I'd lose my shit if I had a chance to buy it.
