incoming NGD
Ive been waiting a LOOOONG time for this guitar. When I started playing guitar at 13(20 years ago) there were 2 guitars I wanted; a gretsch princess and this. They dont come up for sale very often and when they do they are out of my price range. Just found this one last night at 3am on reverb.com for a VERY decent price, direct from japan. Its a little scuffed but I can live with that.
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

It is a Fernandes (burny ) LSA-65. Based off the Fernandes Monterey shape. I had never seen or heard of these til I went to the county fair and this girl was playing. Her guitarist had one of these and I wanted to ask about it so I stuck through her set. Turns out it was Jennifer paige ("it's just. A little crush.")
So after the show the guitarist was nice enough to invite 13yr old me back stage to check it out. I was perplexed at an electric with no pickups because I'd never heard of piezos. So... that's where the love began.

Re: incoming NGD
amazing story just unfolded.
after getting this guitar, i wanted to reach out to the guy who really inspired me to switch from bass to guitar. Like i said, he played with jennifer paige, but i didnt know his name.
So, i sent Jennifer an email, she replied with the names of her 2 guitarists, then i looked them up on facebook.
I just got a message back from the guy that let me hold his guitar all those years ago.
We started chatting and it turns out he's selling THAT guitar. I asked how much he replied "name your price". I dont NEED 2 of these guitars...but how cool would it be to own THEE very guitar that got you into playing guitar? So now im trying to figure out a way to fund this on top of new amp, new acoustic, and new electric all in the last 2 weeks.

If anyone cares, his name is Doug Bossi and this guitar has been on stage with him playing for acts such as Seal, brittany spears, Christina agulara, and Bryan Adams. I know none of those names are super cool in the rock world, but this guy played with all of them and that's pretty cool to me.

Qudos to you man. It's a tiny piece of pop history and it sounds like it's landing into the arms of the person who will appreciate it the most. It's good to hear stories like this. I remember that era of music, and while it wasn't guitar laiden, those songs lived on everyone's radio for that point in time. Knowing that axe was used in the formulation or presentation of it all really makes for a neat story. Plus, I think the thing looks cool. Just curious though what it sounds like?FightingPlankton wrote:If anyone cares, his name is Doug Bossi and this guitar has been on stage with him playing for acts such as Seal, brittany spears, Christina agulara, and Bryan Adams. I'm trying to think what guitar it might be for me that was as formative as that, and I can't imagine being so lucky to get to end up owning it. That's spectacular, and he sounds like an awesome dude
