Wouldn't 'tribute' be more appropriate than 'signature' in relation to George Harrison? It's a bit presumptive.

I'm still saving my pennies for Bryan Adams' first real 6-string.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

especially that it is suggested that he couldn't wait to get rid of it (and he did, only one year after he got it).

Hopefully a Jonny Greenwood signature Telecaster Plus is in the works...

Well the series is just called Signature, it's a meaningless signifier in much the same way that the American Standard series is not the standard guitar that every American plays.

That's definitely something that would get me attention. Although, Tele Plus examples do turn up for sale regularly, so if you really want one like Jonny the model is available...

If I recall correctly, Fender did approach him about a signature guitar but he said he wasn't interested.

He never struck me as much of a gearhead, most of the more elaborate textures are provided by Ed anyway.

I disagree. Most of the time 'Signature' is used to indicate that the person plays or helped design the guitar -- it is not a meaningless signifier. The 'American Standard' means this is the primary MIA version of the guitar in question. It has nothing to do with who plays it and definitely does not mean that it is the standard guitar that every American plays.

Tribute as SP suggested is more meaningful here, since it recalls the model that GH obviously does not play any more.

Most of the time, just like the Jaco model. Oh wait.... MEANINGLESS SIGNIFIER.

So yeah. Does. Not. Matter.

All joking aside, I'm genuinely curious about some of these guitars. Interesting choices for models!

On a Premier Guitar NAMM video the Fender representative said the Ed O'Brien guitar is made in the US and goes for $1099. Pretty good price.

Just sounds like feedback when in harmonic mode and like an infinite electric guitar note when in regular mode. I recently played a Synyster Gates model Schecter with one of those in it. I'm thinking about getting that setup and throwing it in my Jagmaster....it's got a lot of empty space under the pickguard.
