NGD RW Telecaster 2017
Well, I picked this up about a month ago! So not the exact day but here is a post.
After selling my last good telecaster a few years ago I started having the itch again and ordered this one new at my local Long and McQuade. The "worn" bits are pretty tasteful (especially in comparison to the earlier RW models). Also, the finish is kinda sunken in which looks cool in certain light. I've played a couple of hot gigs on it now and the neck has more wear between the frets than I expected it would. It doesn't feel any different, it just seems to gather dirt quicker to mimic that worn maple look.
The pickups are really great! They are TexMex pickups. I think they are hotter than typical 50s style pickups. I think they suit my style better. I mostly play straight into a Princeton or Gibson BR-9. It's nice to have a single coil sound along with my supertron guitar.
Anyway here is a guitar

Thanks! The neck was nice out of the box but it's starting to gloss up nicely just from playing. And I got those letters at the local Home Hardware.

Those are FANTASTIC guitars. The neck is good, a bit slim and wide for my liking, but I would own one very quick if something ever happened to my Tele.

Oh yeah? Did they change the neck? Mine is a big, fat "U" profile and by far the favorite of all my guitars.StevenO wrote:Those are FANTASTIC guitars. The neck is good, a bit slim and wide for my liking, but I would own one very quick if something ever happened to my Tele.
The cool thing about fretless is you can hit a note...and then renegotiate.

I remember playing a roadworn tele a couple of years back. It certainly played nice, but the aging just looked silly imo.
But this one looks much, much better!

Anyway, the neck on mine is a big fat profile. Not skinny at all.

That's beautiful. RW Tele will be my next guitar purchase. I held one on my hands (didn't reply plug or even play) last weekend. Really, really nice feeling neck, light weight. Finish felt really nice, and I did notice ash grain under the sunken finish. Beautiful!

Oh, it's fat, just different profile than my own Tele. Kind of hard to describe and I think "slim" wasn't the best descriptor. My bad.Telliot wrote:Oh yeah? Did they change the neck? Re: NGD RW Telecaster 2017
that looks great! looks just like my japanese tele, which has similar wear (but actually just acquired over 20 years). my neck isn't quite there yet, but man, teles are killer guitars. i never used to be into them, and i picked mine up for $600 on kijiji. and holy crap, it's basically my main guitar since then. i feel bad for my strat and mustang
