Rickenbacker Vintage Toasters
i have a 2008 Ric 330 that i've had for sale. it came with toaster pickups...altho, i didn't know what "kind of toasters" they were. they measured to 7, so, i knew they weren't the scatterwounds. i never thought much about it until i got a fake Ric...the toasters are pretty much the same in sound and appearance. that got me worried.
so i took some pics and posted them to a FB group. they seem to be authentic vintage Ric toasters!
i was wondering what you all thought:

Definitely not a Ric expert, but they look legit to me. The fakes I have seen all have had much squarer shoulders on the pickup cover corners.
The folks at one of the Ric forums will know for sure.

I guess somebody should have bought it!
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Alas, the motorik has left the OSG family. I tried to keep it here, but was defeated by the tyranny of distance.

Re: Rickenbacker Vintage Toasters
so far it's one (unknown) "expert" (with a friend who concurs) who says they are; and one (unknown) "expert" (with a friend who concurs) who says they are legitimate Ric re-issue toasters.
one, both, or neither could or could not be experts...i don't know.

Re: Rickenbacker Vintage Toasters
Back in 2008 you were still able to get 330s with toasters from Rickenbacker. It's likely they're modern reissues.
I have no idea about the specifics of old from new, but I do know that in 2008 you could still get the RIC330 with vintage specs, meaning the toasters and trapeze tailpiece.
I'm so jealous of you. Midnight Blue 330 is my dream Rickenbacker. Don't like it anymore??

i do like it. but, sadly, we often want what we don't have (sinead o'conner aside, of course)...but in the end, if i "have to" keep it, i won't mind at all.BoringPostcards wrote:Back in 2008 you were still able to get 330s with toasters from Rickenbacker. It's likely they're modern reissues.
