Okay, that's a different thing, there are a few Martins for sure, and a Washburn and one of the old blues guys played a Harmony, but I would probably go Gibson Hummingbird or similar to cover most of the acoustic tones in my collection and for myself as well...or that old Johnny Cash/Carter Family acoustic with the f-style sound holes. That's a rare one though. There is probably a twelve string or two in there, but I wouldn't bother myself and reach for an electric 12 instead. I'm not really an acoustic player though and would probably cheap out on a Gretsch Synchromatic acoustic or cheat with a big box Gretsch unplugged.

For thin lines the Rickenbacker, Casino and Gretsch models are the most often used, and I would want a Gretsch 6119 or 6122 (the Tennesee Rose and Country Gentlemen) the most to cover the tones in my collection, although I own a Rick and it can do in a pinch. I would really like to have a big box Gretsch again too, there are several White Falcons in my record collection and a Silver Falcon like Robert Smith's or a Black Phoenix would suit me fine.

4) Gibson L6S
5) Fender Jaguar
6) Gibson 335

We are merely moving shadows.

I think these would cover just about everything:

Jazzmaster
Telecaster
SG/LP with humbuckers
SG/LP with P90s
ES-335 with Bigsby
Travis Bean TB500
Rickenbacker 12-string

I suspect that I could cover most of my record collection with these:

My modded Squier JMJM
Rickenbacker 360/12
Epi Casino
Washburn Cumberland 12-string
Yamaha FG 6-string
80's Hohner PJ bass
Epi Korina SG for humbucker stuff.

I don't own 7 guitars....so I guess my jazzmaster with humbuckers will do it all.

There's nothing you can't do with a good telecaster, right?

This is fun and actually trickier than I thought. Here's my list:

1. Fender Jazzmaster
2. Fender Telecaster
3. Gibson ES-125 (full body depth mid '50s)
4. Gibson SG (hb version)
5. Epiphone Casino
6. Rickenbacker 360-12
7. Gretsch 6120 (Filtertrons)

My slight variation:

1. Jazzmaster
2. Stratocaster
3. Telecaster
4. Telecaster Thinline with WRs
5. Gibson Les Paul
6. Epi Casino or Gibson 330 - need P90s and a trapeze
7. Rickenbacker 660/12 - toasters and a wider neck FTW!
