Re: The Magnificent Seven...
Okay, that's a different thing, there are a few Martins for sure, and a Washburn and one of the old blues guys played a Harmony, but I would probably go Gibson Hummingbird or similar to cover most of the acoustic tones in my collection and for myself as well...or that old Johnny Cash/Carter Family acoustic with the f-style sound holes. That's a rare one though. There is probably a twelve string or two in there, but I wouldn't bother myself and reach for an electric 12 instead. I'm not really an acoustic player though and would probably cheap out on a Gretsch Synchromatic acoustic or cheat with a big box Gretsch unplugged.zhivago wrote:Very cool...I am very interested in the acoustic/semi side of things...we are getting some cool suggestions
For thin lines the Rickenbacker, Casino and Gretsch models are the most often used, and I would want a Gretsch 6119 or 6122 (the Tennesee Rose and Country Gentlemen) the most to cover the tones in my collection, although I own a Rick and it can do in a pinch. I would really like to have a big box Gretsch again too, there are several White Falcons in my record collection and a Silver Falcon like Robert Smith's or a Black Phoenix would suit me fine.

I don't own 7 guitars....so I guess my jazzmaster with humbuckers will do it all.

There's nothing you can't do with a good telecaster, right?
