Just picked up this G5422t-LTD in black/gold. Gonna outfit it with some T-armonds, new wiring harness, bone nut, and V-cut Bigsby B6g! Here it is with my semi hollow Jazzmaster.

Re: NG(retsch)D + show me your gretsches
I've had a few Gretsch's over the years now. An older Pro-Jet, 5120 and a caddy green Duo-Jet. Currently I still have the New Yorker here (now with an added K&K pickup and hopefully soon a bigsby) but sold the Firebird for the next one:
Only got this about a month ago and haven't really been able to put it through its paces yet as I'm mostly doing acoustic stuff at the moment. Previous owner added the neck pickup which is some kind of Johnny Smith style humbucker. Bridge is I think, a TV Jones Powertron. Think I might try and swap them out at some point, P90 in the neck and a Classic in the bridge to try and cop a bit more of that Neil Young thing.

Yeah, I wasn't really looking for this but when I saw it I knew i had to have it.MKR wrote:oh. my. god.
It plays great, but needs a bit of nut work to help the Bigsby stay in tune. Not a big deal.
I always liked the look of the hollow Gretsch's but I can't deal with the feedback issues.
The center-block makes it much more similar to a Gibson ES in weight, feel and response, but with the Filtertrons it definitely has a Gretsch sound.

Haha, thanks man. The semi hollow inspiration came from my love for Gretsch guitars, so I figured I'd include it in the photo. It's a fantastic guitar.

Aye, nice work dropping the B70!
I'd likely have a CB model like that by now if it weren't for the sheer weight of the beasts. How does yours fare?

Shedding a lesser-used CIJ OTM Jazzmaser, older (ceramic filtertron) G6128T and a few basses...I saved up enough to recently splurge on a discontinued G6128T-DCM, which arrived a few days ago.
A few things to note...
- Crazy light, just two ounces over 7lbs.
- Unlike older Gretsches I've owned, the pinned Adjustomatic bridge is really solid and rocks nicely with the B3. Doesn't look like I need to use one of the extra Compton Compensated bridges just yet.,
- This model in particular curiously enough came with Schaller Strap Locks. Not a fan but no biggie.
- Of course, not having the tone switch means the right hand won't be bumping two switches by the upper horn, just one
- Finish is like a much darker CAR, really hard to photograph indoors
- Crunch and tinkles all in one package from the AlNiCo HS Filtertrons, this thing sings!

It weights massive 4.2 Kilograms without the Bigsby.

Why is it cats love guitar cases?
Every time I open a guitar case, our cat has to get in. Same with my pedal board cases - he has to have a wander round it and squeeze himself into the space between the pedals and the edge of the case.
That's a lovely guitar by the way (and cat!).

This makes my knees weak... *shudder*InLimbo wrote:I owned a 6128 DSV for a brief moment and absolutely loved it. By far one of the nicest quality (build, finish, etc) guitars I've ever had. It sounded fantastic plugged in, but it didn't really fit in my band mix. Unfortunately, I couldn't hold on to it for just looking pretty on the wall. Definitely a really cool guitar.
