The guitars I've ended up keeping all have that 'snap' of which you speak. I love it. My AO60s Tele has it in spades, obviously, but it is damn heavy...which goes against logic. But, hey, it is a goddamn Tele and that's what they do.
Now, I know I said "no more than 3 guitars" but...

Interesting, I don't have any really heavy guitars that do that, but I also don't have any Teles anymore, either. Or many truly heavy guitars to begin with. Of the Teles that passed through here, the two that had the most of that quality happened to be the lightest, too, but that may or may not have been related since it wasn't ever a large sample size.
