I also have one too, except it used to be the one pickup model. I like it and I play it a lot, but the light weight annoys me. It's o.k. when I'm playing more mellow music, but when I play with more energy it's not so comfortable.

Stringing through the body definitely improves the tone of the guitar and might be something you consider if you are thinking about replacing the stock bridge. The guitar resonates a lot more strung through the body (like a Tele).

Wow I hadn't even considered that, but that sounds like a really attractive option.  I realize that it would vary from person to person, but was it expensive?

Nice Danelectro!

I have a 90s era DC2 - the double cutaway version of the U2.  It is great!  I think the bridge is a great part of its tone and I'm a big fan (though i also prefer the top-loader tele bridge, so... go figure).

Very nice. I have always liked Danelectros, some day I would love to own one. I saw one go on Craigslist for next to nothing, by the time I e-mailed the guy it was gone.

My luthier is very reasonable so I am sure it wasn't that expensive.(It was a while ago so I don't remember the exact cost but I remember being pleasantly surprised when I got the bill for parts and labor.)  It is definitely not a mod I would try on my own and I pitched the idea to another luthier who didn't think he was up to the task. (Dano's are fragile and he thought it would just break.)

Thanks, I might try new bridge first since I don't need to drill any extra holes.  If I'm still not satisfied then I might go ahead with the string-through option.  Thanks!

OH YES  :?

I LOVE those guitars! They're such simple, sexy rock machines!  :-*

Guys I know that this is a pretty quick flip flop, but I'm amp-less currently and sadly need to get rid of this beauty to finance an amp.
