So an old beat, Hagstrom HIII has popped up on my local CL for $100, with the description, "I have had this guitar for about 10 years and it is playable with pick up switches in a certain position. Needs work done on it to get it fully functional. Wood is worn and paint is old, but action on the neck is nice in my opinion. I have and extra bridge that came with the guitar when I purchased it on Ebay from some one in Texas. I also have the tremolo bar that goes with it. Used item / AS IS."
Aside from the non-functioning electronics being obvious, is there anything in particular I should keep an eye out for when I go to check this thing out?

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Unless there's something disastaroualy wrong with it.

HIII's don't actually go for all that much. Asking prices tend to be a good bit over what they usually sell for. With that said, $100 is a fantastic deal if the neck is in good shape, it has a functional bridge/trem, and you're getting sound from the pickups. All else can be fixed easily.

Nine times out of ten "playable with pick up switches in a certain position" can be rectified with just a little switch cleaner spray. As someone already said, $100 is a no-brainer.

I've already reached out to the guy, stating I was interested and asked a few questions like if the body was cracked, if the truss rod was stripped, etc. Still haven't heard a reply back just yet. Hell, it might already be gone.

My dream guitar, aesthetically speaking. If they only had a wider neck...
