No love in this thread for the Ric pickups? That is one of the best things about Rics, IMO
Lollar makes an aftermarket for the toasters - although I'm not aware of anybody making horseshoes for the masses.

Re: RickenJagger 4000
With the slash, that might work in an offset waist design...(eg. like the Starcaster.)Deed_Poll wrote:Here's the 335 hybrid! I still don't know what I think of it...
Edit: I'd jumped in with my views before reading the whole thread. IMHO, the 'slash' makes the eye carry the top half of the guitar further than the bottom. If the guitar wears the slash the top horn has to be further forward than the lower horn, so a (G) 335 design isn't so aesthetically pleasing for me.
I have to say, these are the most exciting designs I've seen for a long time. Very well presented too. I'd go for the 330 with trem design. For me, the 330 is the lightest, most comfortably well balanced guitar I have. If the break angle works without hanging up on whatever bridge is used, it would be a winner.
I saw a mention of Dynasonic neck pickup. Nice idea.

Man, if you could treat the interior wood to match the fretboard color, it would be totally killer ! At least make it darker I'd say

Because Fender wouldn't if they could, right? Yes, Rickenbacker protect their designs. No, you won't have a problem unless you sell it on eBay.finboy wrote:Careful, rickenbacker might come she you for even rendering something resembling their product.

I did this a couple years ago:
I think yours looks quite a bit nicer, but it's cool someone else had a similar idea.

I'm enjoying all these Renderbackers
It's an interesting exercise in what details make a guitar iconic (shape, extras?)
The 335 reminds me of a Silvertone

That bridge concept! with the strat saddles - have you actually built this?? I have been hoping for this kind of system with rollers in the string guides forever!

Re: RickenJagger 4000
THIS IS PERFECT. Can you do these in different colorways? Like Jetglo or something? Fucking incredible.Deed_Poll wrote:InLimbo,
I was thinking about a more traditional guard too.
Here it is
In theory, these would be super easy to make on the machine as it's all top routed with no contours and only a simple roundover on the back the same all the way around - not like a JM where you have to blend the larger radius into a smaller radius around the neck plate. The binding channel will take about 2 seconds.
My luthier's coming over in a few days to teach me how to do binding!
