Clear on the headstock is done. Used poly and to be honest, I didn't like it. It seemed more orange peely than nitro spray cans and wanted to spit more. It does dry much faster I guess, but I like how Deft sprays better. Lesson learned. :) Looks ok though.

I also used Fret Doctor on the fretboard. It kind of did the same thing as lemon oil from what I have seen? Didn't darken it like I hoped, but it did deepen the colors. (Like oiling a fretboard does usually.)

Not bad for a old $50 Chinese Squier strat neck. :D Has flame on the back also. Hard to complain as long as it goes on right. :D

I had read they weren't bad so I was pretty excited. I was kind of worried when I saw a sticker with a number for the serial, but I guess that was a thing for these necks.

All smooth. Then I rubbed on some walnut stain to make it off white instead of bright white.

The stain isn't super obvious except when it is next to white. (It used to be stark white.)

Much closer to matching the body. The distance between them should help. Just need to let the stain dry so it isn't tacky.

I had to plug the holes on the neck and redrill. I think it turned out pretty well. I will wait for morning to tune it up and test play it. Looks great with this neck in my opinion. :D

Tuned it all up. Sounds great and the neck plays very well. Still can't believe it was a $50 neck. The back has nice flame and color, the frets are nice, the nut is cut well, the stock Squier tuners work well, and the rosewood is pretty! Crazy good deal. The headstock matches the body pretty well. Not perfect, but I doubt most would notice the difference in white.

My favorites are all together over my desk. I feel very fortunate to have the guitars I do. I sometimes get flack because I have a lot of guitars, but they are all special to me and aside from enjoying playing them, I also enjoy seeing them. They are art that makes art. :)
