Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
My mind went straight to trisonics too. The Creamery has some that are made for Jaguars
that would be absolutely perfect here.

I'll second the chrome covers. With those pvc plates, you can afford a bit more shine on it.

Wow.
Those creamery jag tri sonic pickups look perfect.
I'll have to figure out how much they might cost.

+1 on the jaguar trisonics. Wow. Those would look amazing with the chrome covers on there. Have not heard them in person myself, but i imagine they'd sound quite nice too!ThePearDream wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 4:49 amMy mind went straight to trisonics too. Hmm.
It looks like these are going to be heaps expensive.
Over $400 Australian including shipping.

That's actually not terrible. When I bought my Creamery pickups for my Tele Custom (a 2 pickup guitar mind you) it was about $350-$375. Jaime is real reasonable, and a cool guy to work with. His prices are high, but that's my favorite guitar of mine as well.CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 10:48 pmHmm.

I'll build the rest of the guitar first and if it turns out amazing, I'll feel a lot more comfortable investing a lot of money in the electronics.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Probably a good way to look at it. I have less of a problem spending that kind of money for my own guitar, but you're usually building to sell, and that could be a tough decision. You should be able to find some less expensive options for a Tri-Sonic type of pickup. Any cool Aussie pickup builders?CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Fri Oct 19, 2018 12:21 amYeah, It's a hard thing for me to decide on.

There are some great local pickup makers about but they usually specialise in Strat or Tele. I'm not aware of any people who make more unique pickups.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 19, 2018 12:26 amProbably a good way to look at it.
