Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Those Jag/Stang style ones are class! I love the Bronco style pick guard. I've tried to make that work with several designs and never really been happy with it, but these look stunning. Kudos!

I've been playing around with some rough design ideas.
Ignore the pickup/bridge situation and focus on the design, what do you think?

Reminds me of Deimel's guitars: http://deimelguitarworks.com/guitars/fi ... 52f3c22ed6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;CROSS_guitars wrote:

Thanks. yeah those Deimels are pretty cool. They're a nice balance between a jag and NR firebird

I'd quite happily play either one of those. Awesome shapes!

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
both great, I surprisingly find the one with the missing heal bit to be the more attractive of the two. It's a little less symmetrical in a really satisfying way.

Looking at these again, I might do a few passes of simplification on the pickguards if it was mine to design.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I know I have asked this before but can anyone show me what I need to mod so when both pickups are active, I can blend the volume of each?
I have followed this diagram exactly but I'm using 250k pots and firebird pickups.

What do you mean by blend the volume of each? can't you do that now? Do you mean because if you turn one off all the way they both will?

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
It's always difficult for me to explain but yeah, when both pickups are selected, if I turn down one of the volumes, I lose all volume. But want to be able to blend the neck into the bridge and vice versa.Ben17e wrote:What do you mean by blend the volume of each? can't you do that now? I read somewhere, all I need to do is change the 2 wires around on each volume pot lug.

This page has what you need to know. Look under "Alternate volume control wiring".CROSS_guitars wrote:It's always difficult for me to explain but yeah, when both pickups are selected, if I turn down one of the volumes, I lose all volume. Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Are you using a switch and want two independent volumes for each pickup?
On my jag I rewired it for two master volumes and for the switches I just have one wired for a kill switch.
