Awesome. :w00t:
Personally, I love roasted maple.
And roasted swampash. My Warmoth Mustang is made out of those two wood types and it makes it really resonant.

Thanks guys! I still have to order tuners, and I just ordered my volume and tone pots. Gotta be honest: I've had the classic Olympic White and orange tort look in my head BAD, but the brown (with a clearcoat at least) is REALLY growing on me. I've got a few months to decide, but it might stay brown with the orange.

Logrinn, I decided after I received this neck that I'm ONLY ordering roasted maple necks from now on. It feels so good, doesn't need a stain/paint or a clear coat, and looks dark enough to almost be a vintage neck. Never ordering un-roasted maple again.

Dude, the bass is looking awesome!

One option for a finish would be a 2-tone burst over the roasted ash... It is pretty dark when you get a finish on it, so it would contrast the pickguard nicely; bit you'd still get some of the nice grain showing through as well ;)

Also it might be reminiscent of some of the darker red bursts on old Japanese guitars...

White will also look great!

Luckily, I don't have to decide too soon. I'm still leaning towards the white, but I won't be able to paint until summer anywho. If I don't paint it, I'll probably just hit it with a few coats of polyurethane as I wouldn't want to cover up the grain. At this point, especially with a Hudson 2-switch Broadcast and an EQD Disaster Transport Sr. on the way, I'm just dying to start playing it ;D

FINALLY got the Jaguar bass wired up!

Only thing I did differently from my original schematic was drop the 2-way toggle switch for two different tone capacitors. My tuners won't be here for a few days yet, but everything works exactly as I'd hoped. I bought a few different tone caps for both the treble and bass cut pots (.056uF and .033uF treble cut; .0033uF and .0056uF for bass cut), and settled on the .033uF and .0033uF for each, I also put on the chrome pickup cover after taking the picture.

Tuners came in, drilled the mounting holes for them, and strung up the bass(standard light D'addario Chromes flats)! I still have to intonate and raise the action a bit (nasty fret buzz right now), but it's holding tune and feels really good. A tiny bit neck dive, but not bad at all. The seatbelt material strap from Souldier is holding nicely.

Still need to put the string retainer on too.

I knocked the strap color-matching out of the park 8)

Looks awesome! Glad you went with pick guard instead of jack plate. Why no bridge cover?
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

Thanks dude! I'm super happy with it so far!!

I honestly never really liked the bridge cover. It almost looks more Science-Fiction-y to have the pickup cover as the only chrome that stands proud of the body like that. I think the bridge looks cool too. And also, I imagine the bridge cover makes it a pain in the ass to change strings (right now I've got the strings on top-mounted, not through the body).

As for the guard, it would've been too much chrome I think. I think the way the upper Jag plate, the pickup cover, and the bridge are the chrome, buy asymmetrical is really pleasing to the eye.

That looks fantastic. I love the roasted ash and the swoop of the knobs area of the pickguard. It looks like it should have been an actual production bass from the 70s.

I could definitely see that. It does feel like classic Fender. Thanks man!
