Re: Shadoweclipse13's New Project Thread!
Yep! Nordstrand passive MusicMan (MM4.4) pickup that they made an an 8-conductor. The 4.4 has 4 separate coils (each coil of the humbucker is split into two separate coils for noise cancelling). I asked for 8-conductor to do funky stuff:
Basically, I'll be able to get the full MM humbucker, P-bass shapes (regular and reverse), Jazz bass shapes (front and back), or even a humbucker on just the low two strings or high two strings if I wanted. Also have a series-parallel switch to do all those shapes either way, and will have a Reverend style PTB for the pots (volume, high pass, low pass).
The cover is a MM with JM tabs, printed by our one of our very own:
Shepherd And Crow Store
Thanks Sid!! The synth housing had to be scrapped as the modules were too close (and touching) the power supply, but that's ok because it wasn't the final case for this synth anywho. Now, I'm gonna build the final synth case in the next few weeks instead of waiting until spring.Sid Nitzerglobin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 10:03 amLoving the bass and the synth housing! Awesome stuff!

And thanks for posting that link for Shepherd and Crow. Never seen that one mentioned before and seems like some cool and different stuff on there.

Re: Shadoweclipse13's New Project Thread!
You're welcome! I've ordered a couple things from Matt before and they're all pretty sweet.
I can't wait to get the bass together! I sold a pedal the other day, and ordered a 3 Leaf Audio Octabvre Mini. Can't wait to get my synth bass on

My Spitfire guard came in today!!
Looks and feels amazing! I asked for NO relicing, but the faded edges to make it look older. I ordered the faded orange speckled 60's.

Re: Shadoweclipse13's New Project Thread!
Thanks Brad! As the saying goes, it ain't over yet, but I'm damn happy with it so far. Like a few of my ideas, trying to combine things I like, with as basic as my Illustrator and Photoshop skills are, can be frustrating. I was lucky that Deed_Poll and I have similar minds for stuff like that, and he knew what I was talking about when I rattled on
I have all next week off, so I'm getting these beasts put together so I can play them!!!!

Re: Shadoweclipse13's New Project Thread!
He does amazing work & I'm sure I didn't make a lot of sense when telling him what I wanted in a guitar & I couldn't be happier with what he created. I can't wait to see that bass finished (I just wish it was right handed. Left handed ones always look weird to me.)Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2017 9:53 pmI was lucky that Deed_Poll and I have similar minds for stuff like that, and he knew what I was talking about when I rattled on

Re: Shadoweclipse13's New Project Thread!
I'm kinda the same way. I'm always looking at guitars online that are righty, and I actually prefer seeing righties in pictures. What's cool is that it's always surprising to see a lefty when I finish a project.
I'm definitely gonna love all, but yeah, bass is gonna be something special. I'm getting the Bass put together this week.

That bass is awesome! I have the same upper plate on my Jag, it's the best for making weird wiring setups straightforward.

Thanks Sean!! I hadn't anticipated that, but 60's Japanese vibe is a VERY welcome things_mcsleazy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 24, 2017 12:40 pmgreat lines on that bass. got a real 60's japanese vibe
Thanks dude! I agree, it's nice having a few switches in that upper horn. The thing for me that I like about it here, is that the wiring won't go here, there, and everywhere in between. The wires from the pickup will go to the upper Jag plate switches, then to the 3-way toggle, then to the pots. I like a minimal amount of wire whenever possible.
Ok, so I feel bad that it took me 3 or 4 weeks, but I finally got some proper daylight pictures of the Jag Bass the other day. I spent the day carefully drilling and mounting things to both the Jag Bass and Offset Telecaster (will get pictures of that later today).
And this is just to show the difference between a maple neck and a roasted maple neck. I'm pretty pale, so you get how dark the roasted maple neck is...
