So do those Eden guards...
...really suck ass that bad?
I wouldn't mind a plain aluminum guard for my upcoming JM build and the Edens are cheap enough. All I really care about are screw holes that are pretty-much in the right spot and for it to be semi-good looking. I don't care too much about being perfectly vintage correct or anything and the color wouldn't matter because I'd get plain aluminum.
Is it just that they're 'rough' or is there something really bad about them that I'm missing? (I've already read the sticky and done a search).
Thanks

i returned a guard to the address they provided & sent it from,Japan i think it was,no refund ! in the paypal dispute they turned out to have a US business address for returns that i was supposed to've sent it too ,Total Frauds!
for what you want it would work, just don't try & return it .

Why did you return it? Ugly, defective, poor quality?

In what way? Sorry to keep bugging you for details...I'm just trying to figure out if it'll work for me or if I should look elsewhere.Offshat wrote: Poor Quality,Big time!
If the shape, cutouts, and screw holes are in the right spots and it's reasonably thick I can deal with crappy finishing. I'd probably sand the rough edges a bit and have it bead blasted anyway.
Thanks for the help.

I've heard horror stories about Eden. Like their necks having frets in wrong places (how does a proper manufacturer manage that?), and just generally being of poor build quality.

OK...I'm convinced...I'll look elsewhere for a pickguard. I didn't realize that finding a pickguard that doesn't look like hell and/or cost a million dollars would be the most difficult part of building a Jazzmaster!

no worries,it was just really bad work,if i had a sheet of aluminum & a hammer i could make a better guard !mine was rough & sharp and the countersinks for the screws were just some filling was needed for pups and the neck to fit.
as long as you only spend like $20.00 on it,for what you want it seems like it would work.
