Filtertron measurements?
hey all! does anyone here have the measurements [length, width, height] of a filtertron pickup without mounting ring? mainly i just need the measurements of the exposed part of the pickup if it's in a guitar.

Re: Filtertron measurements?
thank you very much mister novak! i was thinking about tossing one into the bridge position of my japanese mosrite for a little while. it should fit the cavity as the cavity has enough breathing room for those measurements. the mosrite pickup is just about a 1/16th inch bigger all around.

Re: Filtertron measurements?
Yeah it will fit no problem your only problem is a vintage wound filtertron is about half the output of the moserite pickup so there will be a drastic difference in output as you switch between them. You can get a more modern over wound tron but they dont have that same Filtertron sound.
A Filtertron is around 3.5 to 4k and a Mosrite is around 9k
good luck.

Re: Filtertron measurements?
that's something i looked into after i posted this thread. if that is indeed the case, i might toss two filtertrons into the mosrite. basically, i'm looking to see how i might like them with a mosely style vibrato for a custom offset project. if i dig the sound, i'll go ahead with my project. if i'm not too taken with it, i'll put the mosrite back to normal and move on!CurtisNovak wrote: Yeah it will fit no problem your only problem is a vintage wound filtertron is about half the output of the moserite pickup so there will be a drastic difference in output as you switch between them.
