Who makes 24" necks, besides Warmoth?

Post by Gordon » Sun Jul 29, 2007 11:23 pm

Among greater reviews, I've read they just fret the neck, they don't do fret levelling and other setups... Which annoys/scares me a bit. Is it that bad? And who else could make a 24" neck? I'm looking for a maple w/ rosewood neck, sonic blue headstock; and if it can be done, a binding and a reverse Strat head.

Thanks. :)

AllParts makes a 24" neck. You can get one from Allparts UK for £105 (incl. VAT). [Part No: JGRO.] They have vintage (7.25") radius and don't come with finish so you'd have to get someone to spray that for you, but you could get it in Europe without any extra customs charges which is nice.

Wouldn't USCG make 24" necks given they sell a  jaguar "shagwire" body  (that's what they call them)

I was impressed with the 25.5" neck I bought from them
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

I forgot to check AllParts, thanks! :) I'll see if I can get it finished by some guy I know...

Hey Gordon, if you have to finish your allparts neck with nitro, I found a french webstore that sell it in spray bottle (it's pure nitro, not "nitro based"):

USA custom does sell the 24 inch scale neck. It is on the website on the pricing page.

I wouldn't finish it myself... My first (and last) attemps to spread a body failed in Titanic proportions. :D ( :'( )

How close to an original jaguar is the USA custom body?

the USCG jaguar body is pretty good, although it does have a swimming pool route
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

bit confused with your question.....
no... Vintage jaguars do not have swimming pools,  I believe (although never see) that AV jaguars do not have swimming pools.

You could ask USCG to not route the swimming pool and then do the PUP routes yourself.  (obviously letting USCG route the trem and control routes)
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

Hey Gordon: Why don't you put a binding yourself ?
I found a source here: http://www.guitare-shop.com/product_inf ... cts_id=238
