Modified Mustang vs Bass six saddles

Post by thewizardofaz » Sun Jun 24, 2007 8:54 pm

I made a somewhat unexpected discovery tonight. I have an original bass six bridge, including saddles, screws and springs. In preparation to put that bridge on the six I'm building, I was going to swap out the original saddles with modified mustang saddles, the ones with height adjustment screws. So, I took the screws out of the six saddles and tried screwing them into the modified mustang saddles. They don't fit, they're too large or not the same standard, I suspect they're metric. The mod screws won't fit the six saddles either. Now normally, I'd say screw it and use all the originals. But, my the neck I had USA Custom make is a 9.25 radius. Looks like a trip to Ace Hardware tomorrow. :)
