Re: What's on your workbench right now?
I finished the 5-part series on CAD, CAM, and CNCing guitar bodies this morning (see previous posts on thread). I haven't released it yet as I'm looking to get some feedback first. If you want to spend the 1.5 hours it takes to watch it and give me said feedback drop me a PM.
Best,
Chris

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
This was on my workbench(es) for last three days:
Always wanted to tackle that but it was Chris's (howdo3313) enthusiasm about Fender XII that pushed me to do it.
Still need some refining, but now I know it can be done.
@Ludobag: that Jazzy is an EyeCandy....what is the name of that color (and possibly color code from manufacturer.... )

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
sherwood green metalic
i have buy it fews days before it was my first choice for my twelve before i go to bmm
it come from fred guitar part ,a french store ,and it is expensive but 7 years ago it was hard to find fender colors in france
http://shop.fredguitar.com/fr/peinture/ ... n-met.html
change a lot with light a the metalic is very subtil (light) the Bmm was more metalic (but maybe it is too old ?)
the shade of the color is interesting change a lot and looks turquoise in pics or green or just in between
i have try it before with a tooth pick
it is really surprising go the dark green to light green
or turquoise
cameleon ?

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
Thanks Mister Shadow
it will not be my better finish (at this time is my XII )
if you look closer with neon light you see scratch but at 10 cm it is ok in sun light and then for stage light it will work
(varnish not enough dry i will let untouch for 15 or 20 days minimum i must not crack ,i am not in hurry )
then when i open my mail box today ,my trem is here ,i wait it for 1 st to 20 june ,good news i have screws for with it

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
Hey man, it's a better paint finish than I've ever done. I can do wood stain and clearcoating well with a brush, but painting is a whole different thing.
Isn't that frustrating when you've got parts to finish a project sitting right there? I always have a hard time waiting for the finish to cure to start assembling. Haha

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
I like the way you think! I don't lose things too often, so that entire week or two would be spent looking for the keys. You should mail the keys to yourself from the next county over. Maybe it would take a few days to get back to you.
You age your own mint guards? That's pretty cool! Does it come out a really nice shade (compared to the very green blanks you can buy)?

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
in fact i do nothing special it is the nature of the blank ,fews years ago when i made m y Xii i made a white gard for that i don't use it stay in the case with but it beame really less white than the blank ,(i find too the mint gard for sale too much green)
will post pics
the up not really dark
but if you look at the hole for selector
the back pure white
don't know really why ,i think it is a celluloid blank maybe ?cause it shrink ?
my camera haven't a good white balance but you can ajust to your screen the back is really white rather than the up who age and become more offwhite ,parchement , mint (depend how you perceive the colors ,but not pur white )
with sun (hard to have today)

Wow, she's a beaut'! Magnifique !
I feel you. I've had mosquitoes in my shellac lately. My theory is that they like getting intoxicated by the alcohol fumes, before drunkenly collapsing into the finish, I guess it works too with the solvents in fresh paint?
What's the plan for the pickups?
