I've been doing a lot more guitar-top double-dye stabilization lately. Tiz the season for it since the barn has to stay under 80 degrees to do it. Here's my latest. Have another from the same burl finishing up soon too.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
Haven't posted on this thread in a real long time. Have several projects (probably too many) on the go (a classical guitar, 2 small body semi-hollow jazz guitars, semi hollow offset). Built a new pedal board last week that just needs velcro and did a 'quick and dirty' refin on my Yamaha Strat copy:
As I said, 'quick and dirty.' I'm not really into relicing or anything I just didn't want to spend that much time/money on this one. Probably only half the prep, half the colour coats and half the clear that should be on this thing is. It's going to get a new pickguard (mint 3 ply) cut for 2 jazzmaster pickups, 3 way and single volume.

Currently working on rewiring a mid 00's Japanese Jaguar Bass (it's got the standard noise issue with the cavities not being properly shielded.
Also infilling and repairing the original nut on a 1966 Fender XII and crowning the frets. Amazing guitar.

Electric XII body test cut out of XPS:
Need to make a new, slighty bigger, template for the pickguard and I'm good to go.
Seems we have XII epidemic on OSG!

Man, wrap that thing in a few layers of fiberglass and you have an ultralight XII body, neckdive for days!
Seriously, wrapping that would be amazing.

It's not on the Bench . . . . it IS the bench . . . . .
Finally got some work space again . . . . .
Well after I clean up the last of the boxes kicking around anyway it will be really good . . . .

When thinking about any advice given always ask yourself "why would (s)he know more than I do".

That looks great hpr_hpr!! NOTHING like a handy and organized workshop bench. Seriously.
I'm back living at my folk's house for a few months, but I'm dreaming about my own shop... custom-made storage for screws and other little bits, shelving for stains and supplies, etc. I really want to build a lumber cart to store all my extra little pieces of wood, then I found this online and want to build it SO bad, but don't have my own place:

Hey kifla, where in Houston are you? I'm in Friendswood/Pearland.
What's the details on the XII bridge you have?
I like the Masquerader type 1 project you got going on, I want to build one....

Hey SteadyRiot. Where does everyone seem to be getting this foam for CNC testing? I'd love to know more about it. Is it really cheaper than just running test cuts on some cheap wood?

Weird... doesn't seem to be sold anywhere NEAR me, and they won't ship it. But lots of similar items available in my area. Thanks! Should have just looked at home depot hahaha. Never would have guessed this was insulation foam haha.
