I hope you mean 13° headstock angle, because a 13° neck angle would be disastrous. :o Most carved top LP-style guitars, or similar, are right around 4° neck angle.
im glad you understood what i ment :-[ . On my first build (les paul) i did a 13° neck angle  to compensate for that mistake i had place to the bridge a little close to the nut so it would intonate and i had to make my own bridge posts and now the bridge sits 1 1/4" off the body. But other than that it plays well now :)

Haha, well, It's from a mid 90ties Bass VI MIJ. Though in real life it looks quiete dissapointing. In fact it's on of those "printed" guards. Looks nice in pics and from a distance, but it's just plain ugly imho.... I won't be able to use it anyway, since I need to cut a new guard for my project, since I"ll be using a Bronco Bass neck I converted into a six string neck.

What's up with the fit on the main control plate? Is the tort just really shrunken?

I think it's the pickguard. Pretty sure he got that from me, and I think I just gave it to him. I couldn't get anything to fit quite right on it either. I think I got it from Jimmy and it was an Eden guard or something. Can't remember exactly where it was from. He could just file the side of the plates for a better fit though.

And those plates were just Japanese ones too, if I recall correctly.

Yes they are! I compared them to the opnes that came with my Jaguar baritone custom and they were the same size. I know for a fact that there are differences between usa and japanese plates. BUt anyhow I'm glad I got all those parts from Paul... Filing the plate just adds more fun to the project! ;)

I'll attempt to build the neck myself. I'm using some templates made in Oregon by Paul Rhoney Guitar Co.

As you can see below I have side by side the convertion neck template and the regular 24'' neck template.

:) Thank you Paul! Thank you Paul!

This is on my work floor:

Image

A tele body and a soon-to-be P-bass body.
I finally finish building a guitar, go to play it, and then remember, "oh yeah, that's right. I suck at playing... Why did I build another guitar again?"
