i would say exactly the same, so envious (in aspirational way, not mean) of skills like that, when you can just say 'and now i'm going to build...' & whatever is in your head comes out. talent.sporeleki wrote:very nice, I dislike black marker maple necks, but that looks beautiful. Good Job.
but i'm the other way to sporeleki. i was going to ask what that neck is from because the black blocks looks so cool. i think maple necks without black blocks look too yellowy-white and nothing.
on the critical side (pers pref), i don't like white pearloid guards on black (on anything actually but espesh not black). maybe it's an asd thing but it's like the contrast is turned up too high on them. the body & guard become two different objects instead of complementing each other.
obvs i am a black guard on black guitars person. that way they match my bed linen & my heart.
but neat build. is that pickup up to the job of two?

The neck is from ebay , it was cheap so painted blocks&binding I guess . It plays nice though.vale wrote:i would say exactly the same, so envious (in aspirational way, not mean) of skills like that, when you can just say 'and now i'm going to build...' & whatever is in your head comes out. talent.sporeleki wrote:very nice, I dislike black marker maple necks, but that looks beautiful. The pickup is a G&L L-series , wired with passive bass and treble eq . threeway chooses from singlecoil/parallel/series (with OMG cap)

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
Found a guy on instagram that does custom prints of your headstock. only catch was it would have cost about $70 to get one done and shipped over to England so decided it'd be quicker to do it myself. Traced it on my laptop, coloured it, found a printer that did a couple of them for me and got a cheap frame from Wilkinson so now less than a week later I have a picture for my workshop. Stoked.

top work, kinghat. that is unspeakably cool. & it presses lots of buttons for me on a humanitarian level when war stuff gets repurposed for peace, educational & art purposes.
you know the wilkinson boys from british sea power would be all over that like scarlet fever? maybe drop a pic at their fb or bandcamp homepage or something. truly, i suspect something like that would be totally up their alley.
