Wasn`t comletely satisfied with the natural body.
Now it`s more pleasing to my eyes ;)

MJT Body - Ice Blue Metallic
Allparts neck from 1950s Finishes on Reverb.
Mojo Pickups
Spitfire guard
Staytrem bridge
MIJ trem. (for now)

^^Some interesting things happening in this thread lately. 8)
Not exactly on the workbench- on the couch until I clear the crap off the bench. :fp: My new Jolana Rubin. Never thought I'd find one of these in NZ, but I kept a Jolana search going on our local auction site anyway, and to my amazement I found this! The East European gear is pretty much the next thing I want to explore, and I was blown away to find this locally. The Tornado was the first Jolana on my radar, but as it turns out, I'd really much rather have this. There's work to do- the binding is toast, and someone got part way through converting (badly) to block inlays, but it looks cool, sounds good, plays as ok as you'd expect from any old 60s/70s guitar that could use a bit of setting up/ levelling etc. Electronics are good, nice pickups and the pots work well and have a nice sweep to them.
Wow that's quite a bit of travel for that guitar, from Hořovice (about 45 min west of Prague) all the way to NZ!!

Ooooof, baby steps on this project. What I've learned through practical application is that routs, controls, and control plates are designed deliberately to make sense. Choosing aesthetics and striving for weirdness produces a lot of extra work. Hopefully it'll all be worth it when I'm done.

the original pink finish was never good and constantly bothered me so i finally decided to refinish it.
weirdly, even though i didnt change a single thing, even used the exact same shim, the bridge now has to be bottomed out to get proper string height. hopefully the neck stays put and i dont have to take it apart again to add a new shim to lower the strings so i can raise the bridge.
gah. this guitar is cursed.
EDIT: just put a shim in so i wasnt thinking about it. adjusts much better now.

I've been working on a tenor baritone for some time--stopped a while ago and have now started again. I paint most of my pickguards, and this is the second attempt with this one--using about six colors. The pickguard is five-ply, so there will be a border once the paint is scrapped off the edge.

This guitar is mostly made from parts from other guitars. One of the few items I bought specifically for it was the bridge. Still a long way to go until finished, but it's getting closer.
