So true about modular saving space and steps. I have one side of my garage full of things that roll around as needed. It allows room for way more than you would have with fully dedicated spaces for them. I do get tired of moving things but it's better than not having them available. That's some nice storage you have built.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 9:20 amI've spent the last few years taking an hour plus before I make a single cut, dragging saws up and down stairs. I've had a lot of time to think about what I want, and my keyword is: modular.

A2 for the bridge, A5 for the neck. Wrapped in plain enamel wire in a day or two. The bobbin bits arrived looking like that ( splatter from the laser cutting) at no extra charge.

Tiny bit more garage work this morning:
Made this from entirely recycled pine (a shelf I had laying around that I wasn't gonna use anymore). Made a little pocket on the back side of the bottom, to hold 3 bricks, so it can't tip over.
Filled (dowels, metal pipe, and PVC).

Nice! Putting three bricks under it is a good idea. I built a work bench and put a shelf on the under side of the top toward the rear where I keep about 135 lbs of lead so it wouldn't rock when I work. It does the trick.

Wow! 135 lbs of lead? What's that from? Also, what's it for?

6 boxes of bullets I'll never use. Had them for years but I don't have that caliber any more. They used to ride in the cargo compartment of my Wife's sidcecar as ballast to keep it on the ground when no one was in it. Now they just keep the bench steady.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 7:52 amWow! 135 lbs of lead? What's that from? Also, what's it for?

This pile of scraps is to be my next guitar if it ever gets finished- it's kind of my tangential spin on a Danelectro Pro, as I've always loved the body shape. This will have a kind of "layered" body, a couple of pickguards with different pickups with totally different personalities ( a Kay "Jimmy Reed" is in the pic- great big iceberg of a thing with what looks like a small lipstick tube visible through the pg) a trem bridge, and an "extended" scale- a massive 22.7" as opposed to the original 21". Should be interesting...

Oh yes. I always loved shape of the Dano Pro but it never felt quite right, especially in the lower area. This one looks pretty much perfect. Looking forward to seeing it take shape

Really looking forward to seeing how this comes together, I like the idea of layering the body. Will the pickguard sit under, flush with, or over the top layer of ply?antisymmetric wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 12:48 amThis pile of scraps is to be my next guitar if it ever gets finished- it's kind of my tangential spin on a Danelectro Pro, as I've always loved the body shape. Re: What's on your workbench right now?
^^Thanks all for the nice words
I actually don't know yet- it will probably "float" within the recessed portion of the body, but just how much will sort itself out as the guitar comes together. There will be some eyeballing involved.
