The sewing machine itself? Yep. Plastic main casing, with a few tiny bits of metal (knobs, etc).

Without getting too deep into electrical theory, you don’t need to ground the metal chassis, which is what happens when you change a two prong plug to a three prong plug. That third wire, ground, does not carry current except under a fault condition. The chance of a component allowing voltage to go to ground is slight on a plastic bodied sewing machine, it’s much higher with an amp and without that grounding wire you could become the path to ground which could be dangerous.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
I work industrial maintenance, so I'd be ok with the electrical theory. If the outer case had been metal, I would've changed the plug and not even questioned it. I had my doubts that I'd need a grounded plug, but I definitely wanted to make sure. Thanks for the help dude! Guess I'll just put it back together and use itScout wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 8:38 amWithout getting too deep into electrical theory, you don’t need to ground the metal chassis, which is what happens when you change a two prong plug to a three prong plug. I concur! That might be one of, if not the, coolest ones you've ever done. I'm quite excited to hear how those pickups sound.
I was first intrigued by them when I saw the Fender custom shop video where they made a double-neck Jazzmaster for Troy van Leuwen. The 12-string was basically a Telemaster, with a Tele bridge pickup and a 12-string style split coil like that in the neck.

paint done. you can really see how imperfect the cavity routing is. i did it all freehand cause i didnt want to make a template. the gold colour i initially wanted was unavailable so i went with a champagne type of gold. im honestly really into it. way more than i expected.

I don't see a need to make a template for a one off set-up, besides that would just slow you up! The color looks good
