For a better idea of the difference in size between a jaguar pickup and a strat pickup cover, look'em inside the pickguard:

A Jaguar pu is slightly bigger but you can do a quick test-fit on your actual body just by printing this Terrapin tracing and laying the pickup cutouts inside the routes. Easy-peasy

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
glad people dug my last build. i have a new one which will be completed shortly...
i had a spare body lying around and i was pondering what to do with it and i suddenly remembered i had a 70s matsumoku epiphone 12 string neck. soooooo... electric 12 string. the only things im missing are a bridge and a pickup, both of which are arriving tomorrow.
shitty picture i know but i will post a better one or two once its finished.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
I've spent the last week or two going through this thread and I finally got caught up tonight. If y'all haven't gone back through this thread in a while, I'd recommend running through it again. So many cool guitars.
Anyway, I've been sitting on this thing for a few years and I'm going to start slowly working on it soon. I have a baby coming in a few weeks so it's going to take longer than expected but I'm in no rush. Got it off eBay like 5 years ago and am finally getting around to fixing it. Getting a refret, fretboard cleanup, new paintjob, and new bridge. I thiiiiink it's in the Zerosette family but I'm not 100%. Old Italian guitar.
Don't fall in love with this paint job. It's already been removed.
I kind of liked the original white paint but there were some crazy deep cracks. As I was cleaning it up, I sanded through so I'm going full refinish now. This was the OG color.

That'll be a fine 12 string, niksureal.
My main man, that looks like it'll be a fun restoration. It's definitely a cool guitar.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
All my recently ordered Whiteside router bits arrived Saturday, so I may finally be getting to some guitar building soon, but in the mean time, I made these!
A vertical and horizontal drum stick holders, out of solid oak!
I made both with a keyhole on the back for simple and flush-to-the wall hanging.
I also made 2 oak pie boxes for my sister and I each. I was originally inspired by the yellow-tinted pine pie boxes from Pushing Daisies, but decided that I wanted to use oak instead. I might make one like the show in the future, but for now, I'm using this for my sentimental stuff.
(Note: this one is my sister's that I finished before I finished mine. The stuff in the bottom is just a comic of mine she's borrowing, not a giant hole).

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
I just finished this redo of a Douglas Hadron 27" scale B to B baritone that's been languishing for over a year. I could have spent more time on some things but my main priority was just getting it done. I'm plenty happy with it now, as it sounds freaking awesome.
I used a scrap of mahogany from an old piece of furniture to reshape the headstock into something "surfier" and put Rio Grande "Bastard" P90s into the humbucker holes. Originally I was going to use a standard chrome covered Tele neck pickup in the middle but the Affinity one I had lying around sounded awful so I swapped in this G&L ASAT neck pickup, which is fantastic. It achieves the same hum cancelling effect as strat wiring and a hint of the quack as well.
The final thing I want to do to it is add some kind of bass cut cap on a switch, as this thing has serious balls and I foresee the eventual need to thin it out a bit in the mix. I'll probably get a push/pull pot.
I removed the original poly finish with a heat gun and a metal scraper, which I did put into the wood in a couple spots. Most noticeably on the back where my "stainable" filler putty stands out so glaringly. So I learned not to use that stuff and expect it to blend in. I also failed to get all the poly off in a few spots and really should have sanded the whole thing more finely. But those are lessons to be applied to the Next Project.
Finally, I'll just say this: Baritones are awesome and you need to get yourself one.

That's amazing. Looks better after your re-fin for sure!! How do you like the humbucker-sized P-90's?
I love your builds Nik. That thing is killer! Perfect pickup and controls for a 12-string!!
