Thanks for the kind words, people.
As for the bridge... I don't really know. It was just the cheapest 12 string bridge I could find on eBay.

Cyclone refin is so close to done it hurts! I got halfway done wet sanding this beauty when I got the flu, so it's sitting all alone in the cold cold garage waiting for me. Front and sides look good, but the back is half smooth and half orange peel. Can't wait to finish it up so I can play the dang thing again.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
I suppose I have been lurking in this thread long enough, been enjoying watching all the projects, lots of great work.
Just barely on the bench, but on the bench it is, just a drawing for tonight though.
The StarCaster always looked too wide to my eye so I figured I would see what I could do about it, two more strings and a few tweaks to the body seems to fill out that wideness nicely. Have a few walnut acoustic back and side sets sitting about which have some bark inclusions rendering them unsuitable for an acoustic but the StarCaster just manages to work around them, pickup is an old Fender 1000 pedal steel pickup, guess I will be making the bridge and tremolo unless one of you happens to have an 8 string pair sitting about. Still need to figure out that headstock, got about 50 drawn, not happy with any of them, thankfully it will be awhile before I have to commit to that.
Just finished up sharpening the planes, bench is cleared and stocked with the needed supplies, start the stock prep tomorrow.

Logic gates based on billiard-ball computer designs have also been made to operate using live soldier crabs of the species Mictyris guinotae in place of the billiard balls.

I think I can manage that, will start a thread with some more information when time permits.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
Technically in the drawing board phase, but in the process of redoing my Squire vmjm.
Going to roll the dice on a set of custom Q pickups, see if I can't rig up a bridge with compensated Tele saddles, and then sand the gloss off the back of the neck.
I'm looking to give the poor thing some new life, but im admittedly hesitant to throw money at it that I could be throwing at unnecessary pedals.
If I'm feeling froggy, I may rewire everything, replace the tuners, and swap the tremolo for a locking unit, but for now it's sufficient.

My VM Jaguar is silent when I use the lead circuit. Again. I had a friend repair it for me but there seems to be some bigger problem. Time to learn how to solder the insides of a Jaguar... and maybe change some components.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
I bought a slightly modded Blacktop Jaguar (Guitar Center's Seafoam Pearl edition) body off ebay for cheap. The previous owner had the trem installed. I took it the rest of the way.
Routing and shielding done. I took it to a friend of mine to get the routing done because I kinda suck at this. He did a great job, basically disassembled his own Squier Jag to copy the rhythm circuit route and closed up the lead switch route to give the plate a place to mount:
Pure Vintage Pickups, wiring kit from 920D, $10 pickguard from STRATosphere, Allparts control plates, Warmoth Mustang bridge, and a Fender Mustang neck:
Sorry for the bad lighting. Hopefully I'll get to take some really nice pics. The Seafoam Pearl really pops and it rings like a bell. I love the Pure Vintage pickups. This is the only Jaguar I own and I absolutely love it.
I'm looking to mod my Jagmaster as well. Hopefully I'll shoot some nice pics of that one with better lighting.

Putting the finishing touches on this one. Padauk body with maple neck/rosewood fretboard. Bubinga headstock cap and neck end cover.
The headstock has a Guild influence.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
This is going to sound pathetic compared to the other cool stuff on this thread, but I just installed a treble bleed on my VM Jaguar. (For £3, it's a great little mod!)
Shiny Creamery pickups arriving in a few weeks, so there will be a bit more to show then!

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
So, I just made a 3D model of the plastic selector from a Switchcraft switch.
I couldn't help myself, I really want some other options besides black, white or red. I was thinking of clear frosted plastic, green, or even a low conductivity metal. It's such a small piece that the printing cost is pretty low...
