Anyone recommend a US builder who can do a body and matching neck? I'm kinda paranoid of buying a body and then having the neck not match correctly. I'm particularly looking for a Jag body with a custom rout (just universal pickup routs), and a maple fretboard neck that has a traditional Jag headstock shape. I combed through the thread, and tried to do a search in the forum, but "jaguar" and "builder" are terms that don't help much haha... Any help much appreciated! :)

We have so many great threads of people building or modifying offsets here. I've certainly been inspired to start hacking away at my guitar.  :P  To find parts I always have to search out those great threads and find the links that they so graciously posted to suppliers. I figured it'd be great to have a Sticky with links and suggestions. I petitioned the Ad-Mods and they said "Do it yourself, ya hoser." True story. Their exact words....

So, what kind of wire did theolderbrother use on his Jazzmaster Deluxe and where did he get it? Where does stereordinary get his paint, and what has he used in the past that he would suggest we steer clear of? This distributer has vintage-correct [X], but these other guys sell [X] cheaper. And so forth... Post it here, look here.

Where can you get it, how much, and where do they ship to/from? Also, whether or not you've bought from them and if you'd recommend.

Anyone know of where I can pick up white witch hat knobs? I’ve tried all the sites on this thread and can either not find them or can only see the (expensive) Fender ones.

Allparts has them. Several reverb sellers have the cheaper ones too.

Surely this thread deserves a reboot/update? Half the links don't even work and there's a crazy number of suppliers that have popped up since.

Copied from another thread. I didn't want to see this valuable info get lost.

There is a swag of unbranded trems sold by 'name' companies, some of which may be from the same source (?), but whose origins are generally obscure ...

With trem locks ...

https://www.stewmac.com/Hardware_and_Pa ... aster.html

No lock ...
https://www.guitarfetish.com/Jazzmaster ... _4514.html
http://www.warmoth.com/JazzmasterJaguar ... -P568.aspx
https://www.allparts.com/SB-0211-010-Ch ... _3231.html
http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/gbri ... ce_jag.htm
https://www.mojotone.com/guitar-parts/t ... olo-Chrome

Similar perhaps to the "Gotoh" JM trem (that isn't) I have also seen a purported "Kluson" trem with no actual branding.

Does anyone know where I can find good quality black Jazzmaster pickup mounting screws? I’ve searched high and low and can’t find any proper ones. Should I just use P90 or bass pickup mounting screws? I’m doing a Warmoth build right now with a black guard and black pickup covers, and the chrome pickup mounting screws are driving me nuts.

Thanks!

Puisheen has advised bass pickup mounting screws. Will give those a try!

Tried a surface search, not very successful and thus I'm asking:

Any links to European body/neck/parts suppliers list for offsets?

As long as we're on the topic of suppliers, anybody know where I can find either a bridge and tailpiece from a TVL JM or get Staytrem parts Stateside?

I used the TVL hardware I got from a friend who went the Mastery route on my Jag and love it. I'm about to start a matching Jazzmaster build and would really like the same hardware for it.

Thanks!

Hi everybody! Looking for a black pickguard for my AO Jazzmaster, will allparts fit? WD is another option but I'd rather try to locate one in eu area first, so any suggestions are welcome!

Has Anyone tried the new Kwikplug system from http://www.guitarfetish.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ?
I'm fitting a new rockabilly guitar with their excellent GFS Retrotron P-ups. They now have a system where you replace the wiring harness with a plugged wire to your p-ups to allow quick and solder-less changing. Sounds a great concept, but I'm a bit of a old curmudgeon when it comes to changes like that...
Interested to hear any feedback.

BTWay, I have found them a fantastic source of parts and gear. No issues with shipping to the bottom of the planet where I live either.
Sorry, I know it's been a while since this question was posted but, for anyone who wants to know...

I have used the Kwikplug on a couple guitars and it's pretty stellar, almost too easy. i bought a Tele set and the wiring harness for my Telebird project. The hardest part of building the guitar was keeping the springs in place while I mounted the pickups. I also used them on my Jazz bass. I'm currently building a Super Stratomaster (on a Rosser Guitars Jazzmaster body) with the Lil Killer pickups using the Kwikplug system.

Also, the Jazzmaster parts on Guitarfetish appear to be designed for the genuine article. For instance their pickguards are not compatible with their Xaviere Jazzmaster clones, which have a slightly smaller body. They say their bodies are compatible with genuine JM parts.

The TVL trem (0054466000) is the same as AVRI62/AV65 trem, which also goes by 0054466049 ...
https://www.fmicassets.com/Damroot/Orig ... 4-2014.pdf

https://darrenriley.com/store/fender-am ... 054466000/
https://shop.fender.com/en-US/parts/bri ... 66000.html
https://www.angela.com/fenderjazzmaster ... 66000.aspx

The TVL bridge (7702080000) with brass saddles and Staytrem-/Marr-like anti-sink nylon bushings is unique to the TVL and sometimes crops up on reverb, eg
https://reverb.com/nz/item/4546585-fend ... dge-chrome
Similar to the original Marr bridge (~56mm E-E spacing ?).
