Good news!

I bought a router bit of a brand called Cobolt (through the Swedish guitarparts site: http://www.gitarrdelar.se" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) and it was great, yet expensive. I found their catalogue online and it have both bouble bearing flush trim bits (for routing an entire body with the grain WITHOUT changing the bit, just higher/lower the bit and flip the body over) and a 60 degrees bevelling bit for vintage correct pickguard bevel! With metric standard 8mm shaft too.

Here's the catalogue: http://www.tooltrust.se/100325_Katalog.pdf

And the absolute best part is that they have a retail dealer (that sells to private persons) here in Gothenburg! (no online sales to private persons though, but at their store)

:)

I've found this:
http://www.grguitars.com

I think that's a good alternative, the price are correct globally, you can found a new wiring kit for jaguar with all in fender parts, less 2 plastic knob on main plate for 82$
I've see a beautiful tortoise pickguard. the website look bad.. but take a look is free :D enjoy it... :P

Might be a silly question, but does anyone know of somewhere that makes maple cap necks? Like the BB&B ones?

Shellex.de

They got tons of binding and inlay material.

For example fake MOP in large blanks for Fender style blocks:

Not so offset related, but non the less interesting is their checkerboard binding a'la Rickenbacker:

Hello there,

I am about to build my own jazzmaster with Warmoth neck and body.
I am really a beginner in wiring. I know how to connect a wire a thing but still I don't know what I need exactly.
To build my knowledge, I based myself on wiring kits that are available for sale online (acmeguitarworks, GRGuitars). So now I know more or less the required parts.

I tried to compare prices and it takes time to check every single part on each web site.
And then I found an offer on grguitars.com : it is a complete wiring kit for a newbuild, for $94.95.

It says :

Jazzmaster wiring kit for new build, including Fender roller pot mounting bracket & screws, 2 Fender black roller knobs, slide switch with black cap & screws, Fender brand 3 position right angle switch with off-white cap, 1 meg linear pot, 1 meg audio pot, Fender 50k mini pot, 1 meg mini pot, .03 & .02 caps, 1/4" Switchcraft jack. Yellow, green, black, blue, red and white cloth covered wire. Optional copper shielding sold on our Electronics web page. We have included extra black wire for grounding and a wiring schematic.
Ref JZMWK2

What do you think of the price and the kit?
Is grguitars' shipping reliable? I live in Europe.

I am also a bit lost for the screws I need...How many for which parts (tuners, tremolo, bridge, pickguard...woaahh im fainting! )

Any help will be gladly welcomed and I will be super happy to post pictures of the final result!!! (Should I make a thread? :)
Many thanks!

Just found this out.

Terrapin's JM pickguard is based off the Allparts pickguard. So it won't be compatible with your AVRI or Warmoth/etc.

May be useful for those of you out there who are considering purchasing a pickguard from him.

I am a Canadian and a 1959 Jazzmaster owner. I never heard of hosers until the movie releaes of Strange Brew. I think it may be a characterization created for the movie. Don't know fore sure eh.

About parts suppliers, I am looking for someone who provides good quality repro headstock decals. I need one for my Jazzmaster and can't seem to find a source. Please advise.
