Offset Parts and Suppliers

We have so many great threads of people building or modifying offsets here. I've certainly been inspired to start hacking away at my guitar.  :P  To find parts I always have to search out those great threads and find the links that they so graciously posted to suppliers. I figured it'd be great to have a Sticky with links and suggestions. I petitioned the Ad-Mods and they said "Do it yourself, ya hoser." True story. Their exact words....

So, what kind of wire did theolderbrother use on his Jazzmaster Deluxe and where did he get it? Where does stereordinary get his paint, and what has he used in the past that he would suggest we steer clear of? This distributer has vintage-correct [X], but these other guys sell [X] cheaper. And so forth... Post it here, look here.

Where can you get it, how much, and where do they ship to/from? Also, whether or not you've bought from them and if you'd recommend.

I'm dying to find another source for a real JM trem... I emailed Angela a few months back about international shipping prices, and never got a reply. So I forgot about it for awhile. Howver, if anyone knows another source, or wants to recommend another way of contacting Angela or something, I'm all ears! :)

Edit! I started checking out your links and found the trem and bridge over at dguitarparts! I'll investiggate their shipping options later. Do you guys have any opinions on these parts from dguitarparts?

Also, those acme wiring kits seem pretty expensive. If you live in a decent-size city, check your yellow pages for a real electronics shop and go buy these parts, they can't be worth more than $50 USD.  Maybe I'm spoiled by living in China, but I doubt it a little because I've only bought US-branded parts so far (which usually means I pay about 5% over US e-retailer prices).

I actually started a thread similar to this awhile ago (index.php?topic=11956.0), so I'm glad to see that it's finally stickied.

A few things to add:

White Witch Hat Knobs - Jay
White Jaguar Knobs - Me   :P
Where does stereordinary get his paint, and what has he used in the past that he would suggest we steer clear of?
I'm surprised anybody would want to know since I haven't shown off much of my paint work.  Didn't think I'd made that good of an impression.   ???  But I get most of my colors from here:

Just about everything that Stew Mac sells is good stuff, but you can get Lawrence McFadden's Nitro for a better price from Grizzly.

You should know, you said it!  ;) :P

I really like this definition taken from the wikipedia article:

"Today, the word hoser evokes - sometimes sympathetically, with gentle ribbing, and sometimes negatively - a stereotypical Canadian male, typically lower to middle class, white and English Canadian. He is especially concerned with drinking beer and watching hockey or curling. The hoser is understood as a product of a poor and white upbringing, but never from a more cosmopolitan lifestyle — he is more likely to come from a small town or a rural farm community than a big city, although hosers may also exist in the suburbs of major cities. He is generally assumed to be unemployed, although he may also be a farmer, a labourer working in primary industry (manufacturing, mining, forestry, etc.), a tradesman or a manual labourer. He is typically not university-educated: if he has any education past high school, it's a college trade program. If he does go on to university, or moves to a city, he will still have preferences for "hoser" food, clothing, music, and sports, and will retain the language inflections of his upbringing.

He's often imagined wearing heavy winter clothing, usually a flannel lumberjack shirt, Kodiak boots and a tuque. He is generally a young adult to middle age, and may be somewhat aggressive given the beer and hockey, but may conversely be passive and amiable, given the beer."

So yes. guitar parts. Thanks! Feel free to add to the list or comment about it.  :)

I don't know if any of this is true, it might be a sub-culture around that movie. They talk with Canadian accents, but hoser seemed more like an insult they would say to each other, as in "pantyhose wearer" or "penis" or something like that. Maybe someone Canadian can explain this to us.

I'm looking for a Jaguar modified bridge (the one with adjustable mustang saddles). They used to be sold at GuitarPartsResource but I can't seem to find them anymore. Is there some other shop selling them?
