How will the guard be made? I never thought about fusing two pieces together.

Sweetfinger is making the pickguard for me. It sounds like he made a template to make the two halves and routed out a strip on the back side to inlay a strip of pickguard material to connect the two pieces together. That seems like a super smart way to do it. I think some of the V's just have the pickguard painted.

Right on. I always assumed it was paint on the famous ones. Show us the back of the guard when you get it. I need engineering evidence!

I haven't heard from Sweetfinger in a few weeks. I might have to order another pickguard and just paint it myself I guess. :(

Hmm, hope it’s nothing major and he gets back on track for you.

Body came and I got to work putting it together. I am so excited with how it turned out! It looks so good. I am super happy. I taped off half the white guard and sprayed the black half before getting it wired up. Everything just went great. The pickup looks perfect with the design. The black tele knob on the white half looks cool. I like the split neck plate design. It all just came together better than I imagined. Copacetic did such a good job on the body paint. I am super thrilled!

I wasn’t sold until the pickguard. Really dig the diagonal color symmetry that comes from the offset shape and pickguard.

Wow. That pickguard absolutely ties it all together. Well done on having that vision. I didn't see it before when you uploaded the picks showing the horizontal division.

Thanks! I think this is one of my most exciting builds so far personally. I love how easy it went together also. It all just was like it was supposed to be that way. I was hoping to have two pickguards glued, but I didn't do to terrible at painting the pickguard. Visually is is exactly what I was hoping for. 😊
