Allparts D&B Jaguar necks group order (it is possible!)

I’d just order a Parklane neck for that kind of money. Best neck I’ve ever had (vs Fender, Musikraft, Allparts, Warmoth, etc)

Just went through the configurator and with zero finish it came to $430 the way we could get the AllParts set up for under $300. I mean, I'm sure it would be gorgeous, but "for that kind of money" is not that the same amount of money.

I ran down various builder‘s custom neck configurators and always came out somewhere between 400-650 bucks.

And also: the best part is coming now.
I learned this today: as a wholesale dealer (whoever of us feels adressed - please get in touch - maybe a professional builder? otherwise I might just start a guitarparts business) - we‘d get a seeerious(!) discount - like we‘d end up below 200 for an unfinished and below 300 for a finished one. At this point this feels like a no brainer to me - but we need to be enough buyers to minimize any financial risk (for me or whoever takes/keeps the most necks.

I‘d have to measure my specs/get a few others in my hand - right now I „only“ have two Japanese and two Squier Jaguar necks to compare.

I also checked the site and it seemed clunky. I do wonder if there would be a price break with Parklane for a group buy though. Perhaps they would even do individual specs. Could be cool.

Also... As an IT guy... That configurator could be tightened up into one page without having to add everything as a separate item purchase... It's a bit overwhelming as it is.

I currently moved up from buying two to three.
…which is insane when you think about it - but one for a Black Thinline Twin, probably one on the Top Bound Burgundy (so these necks need WHITE binding, not tinted and not cream) - and one either for the white Squier or for a future vintage white Jag - maybe if I can convince a friend to build a purple Jag instead a purple JM.

I like smoothly sanded necks with true-Oil finishes very much.
How does the Binding act in the process (if you oil it or stain it)?

TrueOil has a little bit of tint to it but probably also won't really stick to the binding... Hmmm... Not sure, then...

I‘ve never seen a Mustang neck with Binding before - but yes definitely!

With the newest development of an accessible wholesale deal (and therefore affordable prices for finished necks too) either option is on the table.

If the majority should vote for applying their own finish and saving even more money. I‘d be down for that option too.

Maybe if we got all our specs and order-numbers ready - we could ask them for a more exact quote for either option - and decide then.
I guess some options like just oiling might be cheaper than gloss lacquer…

Agreed on the clunkiness of the site. A couple of things though….

That $430 includes a nice finish on the neck + any specs you want. He also runs 10-15% off sales pretty often. Not trying to rain on the parade here, just excited that I found this builder as I was realllllly blown away by the quality of the neck I tried out.

I ordered a Parklane neck a month ago. I thought the deal was pretty good considering the specs I got. Looking forward to seeing the final results.

I'd be for a finished neck as trying to do that in a NYC apartment can be problematic. Either way, I go with the hive mind.

We should probably get list of all the option variables, like which finishes variations they are able to do, then we can maybe make a Google Form for voting or something like that.
