Jazzmaster rhythm rewires

Post by Marshsticks » Thu Apr 23, 2020 4:17 am

Hey guys,

I've recently been rewiring my Jazzmasters with some help from the guys in Shadoweclipse's thread, and yesterday I finished! I also resprayed my Squier JM in Sherwood green while I was at it.

This gives me the standard lead circuit with the top horn switch down, and with it up has the series/ parallel mod with it's own volume and bright switch for taming the low end! They're all very usable sounds, the bright switch comes into it's own when you pile on the gain as you can alternate between a bassy Queens of the Stone Age type distortion or a pokier sound that's better for general palm muted chugging.

Apologies for my appalling drawing and handwriting!

The refin looks great! :?

That’s a very cool use of the rhythm circuitry. I imagine the bright switch is very useful for the series setting.

I’ve written up a few different ideas for what to do with mine. Currently I’m thinking having the switch activate the neck and bridge in parallel with neck volume and bridge volume rollers for blending, still under control of the master volume and tone.

So many good options it’s tough picking one!
