This build is gonna be so killer! What radius/scale length?
It's full scale (25.5")
12" radius fretboard.
I think a flatter radius will work better for a 12 string.

It will have a soft V profile.

Headstock thicknessed and transitioned.
Can't do much more until the fret wire arrives. It's floating around in Jamaica right now.

Where did you get the string "tree" from?

It's 3D printed in steel by shapeways.
I'm going to give it a good polish.

The future is here to help us acquire vintage gear! On a more serious note: How did you get the files for the string tree? Did you make it yourself then had them print it?

Someone on this forum modeled it years ago. I forget who. I have since designed my own which has the different string holes.

Amazing, thanks for the link. Ah, yes I see. The string holes are completely different. Will you upload your version for others to use?

Ah, yeah found it.
Looks like he modeled the saddles too. Although they would need to be threaded.

What tailpiece is that?
12 string Hardtail string through.
If I remember right it was a super cheap knockoff of something like an EDS-1275 tailpiece. Super easy to string up compared to my almost entirely Bigsby-fied collection

After about 2 months, the fret wire finally arrived.
Jescar, stainless steel. I had some time to bang 'em in today.

The staggered hipshot tuners also arrived. They look great!
It's a nice change from fitting necks with Kluson style.

Because they are staggered, they may not need a string tree?

Here it is looking more like a guitar.

Next steps, drill in the side dots into the fretboard. Profile the back of the neck into a soft V.
Roll the fretboard edges.

Heavily rolled fretboard edges.
I don't usually do this much fretwork but it pays off.

Chunky soft "V" neck profile.

Still heaps more hand sanding to go.
