i just bought a blemished seafoam green bound telecaster body for 37 bucks. the blemish reason is that the binding is yellowing. WHICH IS RAD ANYWAYS.

Seems like they are always claiming it is a blowout sale.

I grabbed a bound burst one that had a glue stain and the neck pocket was 2mm larger than normal. When I use allparts necks I feel like I end up sanding that much anyways.... lol

Whoah, do you use a charcoal pencil as a pick?

I've never seen this particular wear pattern before...

Charcoal pencils make great picks by the look of it :D

EDIT: I somehow managed to miss the first line of your comment and came up with the exact same joke :derp:

Allparts 1.0mm black picks.
.13 flatwound strings.
High Action

It makes a mess, ruts in the pickguard, and it doesnt wash off. One of the main reasons I put tort pickguards on my expensive guitars. This ones my #1 player though.

Ah! I'd wondered if you were using a copper or metal pick or something. Huh. Yep. Sure does make a mess!

My bound burst body arrived. The flaws were an oversized neck pocket (by like a MM or two) and glue showing in the finish. As far as I can tell, it will work great. I read some people post that the bodies were not a consistent thickness, but this one seems fine. Also someone said online that the bridge rout was too shallow but it seems to be the same as my MJT Teles. While the back looks black, you can still see woodgrain but it is hard to photograph. I dig it. I mean it was like $50 for a double bound (asian alder?) tele body. Hard to complain really. As you can see from the pics, the "oversized" neck pocket is only a tiny bit big. Once the neck is bolted down, I doubt it will have any problems. The "glue blemish" is that lighter area in the forearm location. Hardly a big deal to me.
