bullet stang fuckery

hi all, new to the board (ish, was somewhat active a very long time ago) - i’ll do the whole introduction thing soon but for now here’s my latest project.

got a bullet mustang from work with a sweet lil discount that made it hard to pass up.. oly white, etc - just stock.

i’d always been curious about using paper under lacquer, could go horribly wrong but so far i’m very happy with the results. refinishing the neck, used a couple pages out of old magazines and ended up with this...

Love the pickguard! Are you going to be doing anything to the body itself? Keeping it HH, or doing something different with the pickups?

thank you!! likely just going with tex mex strat pickups and conversion rings... the body i haven’t decided on yet!

there's a guy here "awschmit" (sorry andrew, if i've misspelled that) who's an expert on paper finishes.
search for his build threads.
