I've been kinda thinking of doing a jazzmaster in natural finish and a black headstock, and this thread is certainly helping that cause

Would like to see maple neck examples, a much harder proposition than rosewood fretboards.

i've been blacking my headstocks for years. half the time i use black pickguards anyway so imho it looks better.

No. I worked with a fellow forumite here on the body shape & specifics & he knocked it out of the park!
