Mastery Bridge for American Pro Jazzy- That Much of an Upgrade?

Post by RoséBear » Wed Mar 06, 2019 3:03 pm

I love the mastery bridge on a MIJ jaguar and it was a much needed upgrade to that guitar. I just bought an American Pro jazzmaster and I’m wondering if it’s even worth the money to upgrade the bridge, as the one it comes with works just fine. I’m guessing I’ll get a bit more sustain which would be nice, but I’m not sure there are too many other advantages over this modified mustang/jaguar bridge. Anyone have any thoughts/made this switch?

I put a Mastery bridge on my Am Pro Jaguar, huge upgrade in my opinion. For me the bridge makes a huge difference on any guitar, I changed the TOM off my Gretsch for a Compton bridge recently and it completely elevated the guitar. A high quality bridge just adds a lot to the feel, response, and tone to the instrument. I didn't have any problems with the AmPro stock bridge either, but it's comparatively uninspiring.
