So my Johnny Marr Jaguar mustang bridge arrived (the modified mustang bridge with 52mm spacing) and as I would quickly learn my AVRI Jag mute will not fit with the new bridge. The bridge pots on the Marr bridge are slightly fatter than the stock posts and while it fits it is entirely too tight and does not allow the mute to rock back and forth.
My plan is to widen the oval shaped holes on the mute to compensate for the larger bridge post. I'm not the most handy person off the cuff with things like this. What type of tool would I use to widen the holes by maybe 1-2mm? Is there a special type of metal file I could use or perhaps drill bit?
Thanks in advance

Could probably screw it to a board to hold it still and use a drill press?

Dremel. I’ve done it a couple times. There are sanding bits and a sort of cone shaped grinding bit.
